Sea turtle flipper tracks lead up a pale beach in early-morning light, with long cool shadows and a calm sea behind.

What a typical day looks like

  1. Sunrise on the shore

Walk the beach in the first light, looking for tracks, nests and turtles in trouble.

  2. Breakfast by the sea

Coffee, fresh bread and the day's plan, shared with the team.

  3. Turtle care

Feeding, cleaning the tanks and helping with the daily check-ups.

  4. Beach clean-up

An hour on the sand collecting plastic and fishing line before the heat sets in.

  5. Lunch and rest

The hottest hours are for eating, reading in the shade and a swim.

  6. Snorkel survey

Back in the water to spot and photograph turtles on the seagrass.

  7. Dinner under the stars

A shared meal, Bedouin tea and a sky full of stars.

A worn field notebook, a lit head torch and a folded tide table on a wooden table on the sand at blue hour, the sea and mountains behind.
